Bright lips in the top: professional Dior makeup artist names the main makeup trends for fall 2023
Autumn is a time that symbolizes not only a change of wardrobe, but also a change of makeup bag. Instead of a light summer tone and natural blush, dark, bold shades are in use. So if we're talking about the fall palette, we can't help but talk about fall makeup trends.
Jamie Coombs, a professional makeup artist at Dior Makeup, will help you with this, telling What to Wear about the season's trends.
"Fall 2023 makeup has a gothic punk vibe," says Coombs, " Think bright eyes with black or dark brown smokey eye combined with a soft, matte complexion and natural lips.
If you don't want to do too bright eyes, why not do accent lips instead? As Coombs explains: "This season will be all about vibrant lips - deep lip pencil shades with contrasting, highly pigmented dark red lipstick shades to create an intense, 'vamp-punk' version of the 90s lip trend."
Wild but defined eyebrows
Now it's a trend that allows you to leave your brows as thick as you want them to be. "It's a relaxed look created by lining the brows," says Coombs . "I recommend filling in the empty spaces with an eyebrow pencil and fixing the hairs with a tinted or clear gel.
Hailey Bieber shares pictures of her berry cheeks and lips on Instagram, and Coombs says this trend will be relevant for fall: "Imagine the contours of your cheeks in cool berry shades. Take a blush and lightly sweep it in a "C" shape from temple to cheek."
"Use lightweight foundations to create a glowing complexion," says Coombs. " This radiant, no-makeup look can be achieved with intensely moisturized skin and a lightweight foundation."
