Pop star Beyoncé has endorsed Kamala Harris' candidacy for the US presidency, becoming one of the few American celebrities to do so publicly. The singer said that this year can be called a decisive year for change, as representatives of parties with radically different views are running in the 2024 elections.

That's why Beyoncé came to a "big campaign rally" in her hometown of Houston, Texas, and expressed her support for Kamala Harris. Her speech was shared by Vogue magazine.

"We are so happy to stand here on this stage as proud women from Texas, supporting and celebrating the one and only Vice President Kamala Harris. A woman who promotes what this country really needs right now - unity. It's impossible not to feel the energy in this space, the positivity, the community, the humanity. We are on the verge of incredible changes, on the verge of history," Beyoncé said.

As you can see, the artist in her statement hints that Kamala Harris will be able to unite people with different political views and support for different parties: both Republican and Democratic. Moreover, Beyoncé said that she was not making a speech on stage as a celebrity, but "as a mother" who is concerned about the well-being of her family and the future of her descendants.

The singer based her statement on the theme of feminism, which is considered the most important direction of Kamala Harris' political campaign. "Imagine our grandmothers. Imagine how they feel now. Those who have lived to see this historic day, even those who are no longer physically with us. Imagine all their sacrifices. The sacrifices made so that we could see the power of women, which we see in their power. Rethinking what leadership is. All men and women here and across the country need you, we need you. Your voice has power and meaning. Your voice is one of the most valuable tools we have, and we need you. Your freedom is your God-given right, your human right," Beyoncé campaigned.

Although the artist claimed that she was not standing on stage as a celebrity, she nevertheless tried to influence the masses with her popularity and urged as many people as possible to vote for Harris in the election scheduled for November 5.

"We have to vote and we need you. It is time to sing a new song. A song that began 248 years ago. The old notes of fall, discord, despair no longer resonate. Generations of our loved ones are whispering a prophecy, a quest, a call, a hymn before us. Our moment has come, the time has come for America to sing a new song. Our voices are singing a chorus of unity, they are singing a song of dignity and opportunity. Are you ready to add your voice to the new American song? Because I am," the singer said.

Kamala Harris's candidacy was also supported by the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama and his wife Michelle, actors Sarah Jessica Parker, Kerry Washington, Leonardo DiCaprio and singers Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen.

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that Barack Obama surprised Americans during his speech at Kamala Harris' election rally in Michigan by performing a verse of Eminem's famous hit song as his speech.
