An ATB plastic bag and a joint to smoke together: comedian Anton Tymoshenko named the strangest lots he has raffled off in the United States
Ukrainian stand-up comedian Anton Tymoshenko, who recently returned from a charity tour of the United States and Canada, told us what the most original items were that he auctioned off. According to him, in order for viewers to want to buy a particular item, it has to become part of the show.
The 30-year-old comedian said this in an interview on Masha Efrosinina's YouTube channel. The artist noticed that Ukrainians abroad are most interested in things related to their homeland.
"Lots are lots, but the auction is also part of the program. It has to be a show. For the auction to work, it's not enough to come out and say, 'This is Zaluzhny's signature, buy it. Thank you" is not enough. You won't raise that much money. You have to bring people in, make some kind of game to make it fun. That's why you dilute serious lots with some cool ones. And people like to become a part of the show," the stand-up shared.
During his performances in the United States, Anton Tymoshenko raffled off plastic bags from the Ukrainian supermarket chain ATB. The comedian noted that the audience was actively buying sugar from Ukrzaliznytsia because its packaging has a beautiful design that you can't find anywhere else.
"And smoke a joint with me after the concert. It was also a lot, because it was legalized there. I was very amused that I came up with this. In America and Canada, there is every reason to implement it, and it was coming in. The most expensive lot was $3,000. Two men were smoking with me," the artist recalled.
Anton Tymoshenko noted that he asked the audience several times if they had any experience with marijuana to avoid unpleasant consequences.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA reported that at Anton Tymoshenko's concert, a man bought a Ukrainian flag signed by Zaluzhny for UAH 160 thousand, but asked for a refund.
