An actor with cerebral palsy, who begged his mother to save herself without him, died in the Los Angeles fires: details of the tragedy

An actor with cerebral palsy died in the Los Angeles fires

Large-scale wildfires in Los Angeles, the most destructive in the city's history, have claimed the life of actor Rory Callum Sykes with cerebral palsy. The star of the British television series "Kiddy Kapers" died at the age of 32.

The sad news was reported by the actor's mother, Shelley Sykes, on her page on the social network X. According to CNN, the man begged his mother to leave him in a burning cottage and save his own life.

"It is with great sadness that I report the death of my beautiful son Rory Sykes in the horrific Malibu fire. My heart is broken," the woman wrote.

According to Shelly Sykes, at the time of the tragedy, her son was at the family estate in Malibu, where he had his own cottage. She tried with all her might to extinguish the fire on the roof but was unable to do so because the water supply was turned off. According to the woman, on the day Rory Callum Sykes died, even the firefighters did not have water, so they could not save him.

"He said: "Mom, leave me," and no mother can do that. But my arm was already broken, so I couldn't pick him up, or even move him," said Shelly Sykes.

The actor was born on July 29, 1992, completely blind and with cerebral palsy. He had to undergo a lot of complicated surgeries and necessary therapies to regain his sight and learn to walk. According to his mother, Rory Callum Sykes, he was a very determined person, so despite the severe pain, he traveled with her to different parts of the world.

The actor managed to sink into the soul of the audience at a fairly young age when he starred in the show "Kiddy Kapers." Later, he was able to build a good career as a video game streamer. For a long time, Rory Callum Sykes lived in Sydney (Australia) but recently moved to the United States.
