A close friend and colleague of the famous singer Amy Winehouse, Dale Davis, spoke about his last conversation with the artist before her death. For a long time, he was the star's "favorite person" as he held the position of her concert director.
Davis recalls how it all happened in July 2011, The Sun writes. According to Dale's estimates, they played about 170 concerts together, the last one being the singer's desperate performance at an open air venue in Belgrade, a month before the tragedy. "That last gig was my hardest night on stage," he says. "It was all a bit of a shock."

She was just one step away from being happy, a friend recalls. Amy and Dale's last conversation was over the phone six weeks after that disastrous show. The colleague said he spoke to her at 11:30 p.m., three hours before she went to bed for the last time.

According to him, the artist was in a good mood. She told him that she had just watched her performance on YouTube. The star asked if she "could finally sing," to which Dale replied, "You're the best!".
"I'm glad she went to bed with that thought. She was very humble," he recalls.
