"Always supported Ukraine": Oleh Skrypka shares throwback photo with David Lynch, whom he knew personally

Ukrainian singer Oleh Skrypka recently shared a throwback photo with American filmmaker David Lynch, who passed away on January 16. It turned out that the 60-year-old artist knew the director personally, so his death was a difficult loss for the vocalist of the Vopli Vidoplyasova band.

The singer posted the rare photo on his Instagram page. In addition, he noted that the creator of the cult TV series Twin Peaks has always supported our country.

The photo shows the stars posing in stylish dark suits with light shirts. David Lynch complemented the look with a bright yellow tie, while Oleh Skrypka opted for a necklace and a cross.

"It was with extreme sadness that I learned of the death of David Lynch, an artist, director, musician and actor. But this loss is personal for me. I knew David. We met during a transcendental meditation. David was an extraordinary person, a spiritual man, a creator and a guide. He was always on the right side and supported Ukraine. May you rest in peace, David. You will always remain in our hearts and memory," the musician wrote.

As a reminder, the life of the legendary director David Lynch was cut short on January 16. The tragic news was reported by his relatives, who decided not to disclose the cause of his death. It is only known that for a long time the star suffered from a complex lung disease, due to which he did not have enough oxygen even for short walks. In 2020, doctors diagnosed him with pulmonary emphysema, which, according to the director, arose as he smoked all his life.
