Ivan, the son of TV presenter Igor Pelykh, who died in a car accident in Kyiv 14 years ago, has been fighting in Donbas since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion. The man actively publishes photos of life in the war zone, which show that despite the titanic constant work and great risks, the military is still trying to document important moments of the Ukrainian struggle.
Ivan Pelykh occasionally shares his photos on Instagram, and since February he has been posting photo news more frequently, either in stories or in the feed. These include testing of trophy weapons, round-the-clock work, new achievements, and even a "branded" Kalashnikov rifle. The man posts his photos under the hashtag "#waronfilm" to capture this part of his life.
In one of the series of photographs, Ivan Pelykh and his comrades went to the border between Ukraine and Russia in Sumy region, where they worked with everything from a military drone to a Kalashnikov rifle covered with Louis Vuitton branded film.
"Wings, mortars, large-caliber gunfire, -20 temperatures and incredibly beautiful sunsets on the border of Sumy region," he wrote.
"We work day and night," Pelykh captioned the next series of photos. Ukrainian soldiers at the front do not have work schedules, so they have to perform combat missions at night.
The soldiers also have a trophy high-caliber ASVK sniper rifle in their arsenal, and its testing was filmed. However, according to Channel 24, Pelykh managed to hold in his hands even the largest heavy machine gun in the world.
According to the military, one should not romanticize the war and believe that men in uniform, gunshots and the destruction of the enemy on social media videos are beautiful and wonderful. "The war is not really f*cking beautiful and romantic, as it sometimes seems from posts on Facebook/Instagram, and every news about a successfully liberated village during a counteroffensive actually comes at a price," he wrote.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA told how the leader of the band Okean Elzy Svyatoslav Vakarchuk unexpectedly met with the lead singer of Kozak System Ivan Lenyo in Donbas, when both were volunteering at the front.
