A scammer created a photo of Brad Pitt "with cancer" and cheated his 53-year-old fan out of 830 thousand euros: the victim almost killed herself

A scammer who pretended to be actor Brad Pitt lured more than 830 thousand euros from a 53-year-old French fan of the celebrity named Anne. In a few months, the "star" managed to gain the woman's trust and, moreover, make her fall in love with him. He lured the money under the pretext of cancer treatment.

According to BTM TV, the story began in February 2023. A woman named Anne, an interior decorator, met a fake account on Instagram that allegedly belonged to the actor's mother, Jane Atty Pitt. The next day, she was "introduced" to Brad Pitt himself.

"Actually, now we're talking about Brad Pitt, I'm speechless. At first, I thought it was fake, but I didn't realize what was happening to me. After that, we talked every day and became friends. He knew how to talk to women," the victim told the French TV channel TF1.

Anne, whose marriage to a wealthy man was on the verge of collapse, quickly believed in the sincerity of the "actor." The fraudster sent her poems and daily messages, inspiring trust. In the end, the woman filed for divorce and received compensation in the amount of 775 thousand euros, which she later handed over to the scammer. He claimed that he allegedly needed the money to treat kidney cancer, attaching fabricated photos of a "sick" Brad Pitt. Interestingly, he managed to lure out a tidy sum by claiming that his own money was in an account that was allegedly frozen due to his divorce from Angelina Jolie.

"It costs me a lot, but I tell myself that maybe I'm saving a person's life," the woman commented.

The Frenchwoman learned that she had been deceived when she saw a recent photo of a healthy Brad Pitt with his companion in the newspapers.

The woman immediately filed a complaint with law enforcement and is now in a hospital that specializes in treating severe depression. She has attempted suicide three times.

It is also known that the report with 53-year-old Ann was taken off the air. It turned out that this was done because of the woman's bullying on social media. Thus, the football club publicly bullied the Frenchwoman for her gullibility, and comedian Mathieu Noel joked about the victim's fate.
