A millionaire blogger from the United States who gave advice on raising children turned out to be a sadist. She could be imprisoned for up to 30 years

Ruby Franke from the United States was sentenced to severe punishment for child abuse

Ruby Franke , a YouTube vlogger and mother of 6 abused children, was sentenced to four consecutive prison terms. She can spend from 4 to 30 years behind bars. Although the maximum penalty for her actions is up to 60 years in prison, Utah, where the trial took place, allows defendants to be isolated for only half that time.

After the sentencing, the woman repented and said she was ready for the punishment. According to the BBC, in court, the notorious mother said that after her divorce from her husband, she misperceived the world and made mistakes while raising her children.

Since 2015, Ruby Franke has hosted the 8 Passengers channel, where she and her ex talked about raising children. "Parenting content was at its peak at the time, so the Utah residents quickly gained an audience of several million.

However, as it turned out later, their methods were cruel, and the children lived in terrible conditions. The prosecution said that the grieving mother beat the students, starved them, forced them to sleep in a beanbag and work in the sun until they got burned, forbade them to contact their peers, and deprived them of celebrations for misbehavior.

The police became aware of the child abuse when the defendant's son ran away from home and asked neighbors for water. They contacted the competent authorities, after which the blogger was detained and charged in 2023.

State prosecutor Eric Clark compared the conditions in which the children lived for many years to "a concentration camp-like environment." The mother's business partner, who also tortured the children, lived in the house with the family. She faced similar charges.

The court considered the case through the prism of religious extremism, as the defendants claimed that they were "punishing children for their sins and exorcising spirits."

"I was made to believe that this world is an evil place, filled with police officers who control, hospitals that maim, government agencies that brainwash, church leaders who lie and lust, men who refuse to protect, and children who need to be abused," the mother said in court.

Her fate and final sentence will be determined by the Utah Board of Pardons and Paroles.
