Paul Alexander from the USA died at the age of 78

Paul Alexander, an American lawyer known for his unconditional lust for life, has died at the age of 78. At the age of 6, he was left paralyzed from the neck down due to severe polio, but his respiratory functions were maintained by an iron lung device.

With this device, the American lived for decades, becoming famous all over the world. His death was reported by a fund to raise money for his treatment, the Daily Mail reports.

Paul Alexander, even while paralyzed, had a full and vibrant life, full of travel, work, and success. He graduated from high school remotely and received a doctorate in law.

In those years, America was not yet so inclusive, so the man fought for his rights with the help of pickets and caring friends.

Over time, the American learned to breathe with his tongue, but he could not spend more than three hours outside the ventilator. However, even this time was enough for him to practice law and do other things for which he used a special chair.

People filmed stories about Paul for television, invited him to court, bought his autobiographical book and subscribed to social media about the man with a difficult fate.

He did not have a romantic relationship, because in his student years, the parents of Paul's chosen one forbade them to marry. Since then, the man has had only professional and friendly relationships.

His father made him special pens, brushes, and sticks with which his son learned to write, print, and draw. Paul outlived both his parents and his brother.

At the age of 70, due to health problems, the man could hardly manage without the device. He had not sat in his chair since the age of 74, and in 2022 he entered the Guinness Book of Records as the person who lived the longest with an "iron lung."

Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that Lee Redmond, who once had the longest nails in the world, died in Utah, USA. She had not cut her nails since 1979, and first entered the Guinness Book of Records in 2003 with a 7-meter manicure.
