During a live broadcast, BBC reporter Mark Bland, known as Ben Bulus, was confused with a grocery store worker. Instead, the journalist confused the customer by saying that he did not work there.
This curious situation occurred on BBC Breakfast because Ben Bulus was wearing a yellow reflective vest, which is probably worn by workers. The Daily Star reported that the reporter was at a market in Birmingham to share the latest news on inflation in the UK.
While Ben was talking to the journalists in the studio, a man could be seen walking behind Ben and inspecting the goods in the warehouse. The buyer disappeared from the screen, and then the reporter stopped talking for a few seconds to turn to the man and answer him, "I don't work here, I'm just filming the news." The Daily Star writes that this made his colleagues in the studio laugh, and Ben apologized before continuing his report.
The journalist later shared the video of the moment on social media, writing: "I don't work here." The video made commentators very happy, but there were also those who were outraged.
"Didn't he see the camera you were standing in front of? Maybe he needs to go to an eyeglasses store," wrote one of the followers.
