JonBenét Patricia Ramsey
The little American girl was the winner of many children's beauty contests, but her life ended at the age of 6. According to a forensic report, the girl was hit on the head, strangled with a garrote and possibly raped. Traces of blood belonging to a man were found on JonBenét's underwear.
The girl's parents told the police that they had found a note demanding payment for their daughter, but law enforcement officers later found her body in the basement of the house. The killer has not yet been found.
On 16 April 1960, a 25-year-old schoolteacher and Miss South Texas titleholder went to confession in a Catholic church, but did not return home. Her body was found 5 days later in a canal. The girl had been hit on the head with a blunt object, raped and then strangled.
The culprit, who turned out to be the priest John Bernard, was convicted only 57 years later, when he was over 80 years old. All these years he had been the main suspect, and in 2002 another priest broke the confidentiality of his confession and told police that Bernard had confessed to the murder.
Damaris Ruiz won the title of Miss Venezuela in 1973, but she did not find happiness in it. The girl lived with her brother, who starved her, was jealous of men and abused her. Unable to stand it, Ruiz ran away from home in 2000, after which she lived on the streets for another 15 years.
A beauty queen with a law degree failed to start her life anew. Her body was found in a park, and no one even came to say goodbye to the deceased.
The winner of Miss Hungary 1985 suffered from an excess of attention after participating in beauty pageants. In 1986, she took part in one of the versions of the Miss Europe pageant held in Malta, where she took 3rd place, and on 10 June of the same year she committed suicide. The beauty took a lethal dose of a heart drug.
The Polish model and winner of the Miss Poland and Miss International 1991 titles was murdered 5 years after her global triumph. Everything was going well in her life - contracts with brands, a loving husband and daughter. However, the family idyll did not appeal to the model's crazed stalker, who attacked the couple with a knife outside their home in Poland.
Agnieszka died of her wounds in hospital, and her husband was injured. The attack was witnessed by the couple's 2-year-old daughter.
