Ukraine, along with 30 other countries, initiates emergency UN Security Council meeting over massive Russian attack

Ukraine, along with 30 other countries, has requested an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council. The reason for this was the massive shelling of our country by the terrorist country Russia on December 29.

This statement was made by Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. He announced this on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Ukraine, together with three dozen UN member states, has requested the Ecuadorian presidency to convene an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council regarding the Russian missile and drone attack, which led to a large number of civilian casualties and destruction of civilian infrastructure," Kuleba said.

It is worth noting that the aggressor country Russia launched missile attacks on Ukraine on the morning of December 29, which resulted in at least 30 casualties and 160 injured. Hits were reported in Sumy, Kharkiv, Lviv, and Odesa, while damage was caused by falling debris in Dnipro and Kyiv.

- On December 29, one of the shopping centers in Dnipro caught fire as a result of a Russian attack. There were civilian casualties: at least six people were killed and about 28 were injured.

- On December 29, Russians launched a massive attack on Odesa. At least three people were reported dead. Twenty-two people were injured, including children aged 6 and 8 and a pregnant woman.
