The vote on Biden's request regarding help to Ukraine will take place soon

The U.S. Senate is likely to vote on a supplemental national security bill, which includes an agreement on immigration restrictions and $61 billion in aid to Ukraine, next week (February 5). The text of the agreement is expected to be released on February 2-4.

This was stated by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday, February 1, Politico reports. He assured that the vote would take place no later than Wednesday, February 7.

"This will give members enough time to read the bill before voting," Schumer said.

According to the newspaper, representatives of the Republican Party have previously demanded that changes in border policy be linked to an additional agreement in exchange for further assistance to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

Politico emphasized that the Senate has one week to vote before a scheduled 14-day recess.

"It is not yet clear whether Senate leadership will allow amendments to the package, which could significantly delay the final vote. It is also unclear whether House Speaker Mike Johnson will bring the amendment to the floor before the House vote if it is passed by the Senate," the journalists write.
