Two thousand shells worth $36 million: Denmark to send another military aid package to Ukraine

Denmark is sending ammunition worth DKK 250 million (USD 36 million). Copenhagen is transferring the shells to Ukraine in accordance with a request from the Ukrainian authorities.
This was stated by Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lekke Rasmussen. Denmark said that this is assistance for the counter-offensive, which is "already underway".
"This is a significant contribution that Ukraine desperately needs," he said.
Denmark plans to send 2,000 artillery shells to Ukraine as support.
"The situation is such that we all see that a counter-offensive has been announced. It is already underway. Ukraine has managed to restrain the Russians, and now it's time to return the favour. To do this, it is necessary that they have the necessary capabilities, including ammunition," the minister said.
The Danish Minister of Defence, Troels Lund Poulsen, noted that the donation of 2,000 artillery shells does not guarantee that Ukraine will have enough ammunition.
"This is a contribution to solving a specific acute problem they face. They need more ammunition. So this is a contribution to solving the current problem," he said, adding that more needs to be done to increase ammunition production.
As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, amid the intensification of hostilities, Kyiv has again called for increased military support for Ukraine, especially from Berlin. Ukraine's former ambassador to Germany, Deputy Foreign Minister Andriy Melnyk said that the Defence Forces need Leopard 2 tanks and Germany could provide additional supplies.
