Scholz assessed the outcome of the summit in Jeddah

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke positively about the summit in Saudi Arabia, which was held earlier this month to discuss the implementation of the Formula for Peace for Ukraine. The politician said that the diplomatic meeting was extremely important, but it was too early to draw conclusions.

"In fact, this is just the beginning," - indicated the German chancellor on air ntv. He added that such meetings with such a large number of international participants had never been held before, especially welcoming the presence of China.

Scholz believes that Ukraine's allies should continue to seek a negotiated settlement to the military conflict. Of course, this is not to say that military aid to the Ukrainian army, forced to defend and liberate its own territories, should be cut.

"I am only pointing out that we should continue these negotiations because they very specifically increase the pressure on Russia. Moscow must realize that it is on the wrong track and must withdraw its troops, and then peace will be possible," the German state leader concluded.

Earlier, OBOZREVATEL reported that, according to the official Kyiv, the negotiations on the Ukrainian peace formula, which took place in Saudi Arabia, became a breakthrough for Ukraine. Our state showed that it is possible to rally global support around the plan proposed by President Zelensky to end the war started by Russia.

Importantly, China's representative at this meeting demonstrated that it does not want to be Russia's ally. Beijing has made it clear that it is ready to participate in further international negotiations to end Russia's war in Ukraine.
