Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the evacuation of Ukrainians from the Gaza Strip: a group of citizens were taken to Moldova

On Friday, November 24, eight Ukrainian citizens were taken out of the Gaza Strip to Egypt. Another 26 of our compatriots were taken to Moldova on a chartered plane from Egypt.

This was stated by the spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko, in a comment to OBOZ.UA. He said, that 259 people in total have been evacuated from Gaza.

"During this day, 8 Ukrainian citizens have been evacuated from Gaza to Egypt, and 26 citizens have been taken by charter flight from Egypt to Moldova. Our diplomats assisted them in moving to Ukraine. In total, during the first stage of evacuation, Ukraine managed to evacuate 259 people from Gaza," the diplomat noted.

Nikolenko also added that Egypt, Israel, Qatar and other partners helped to organize the evacuation of Ukrainians from Gaza, for which Ukraine is very grateful.

"The efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to help citizens in the Gaza Strip are under the special control of Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba," Nikolenko added.
