German Chancellor Olaf Scholz recalled his meeting with Russian dictator Putin in February 2022, on the eve of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The head of the terrorist state spouted nonsense about Ukraine "belonging to Russia."

Putin also demonstrated his imperialist ideas that borders "can be changed by force." The German chancellor said this during a conversation with citizens at the Democracy Festival, Ukrinform reports.

Scholz recalls how Putin convinced him that Ukraine was ''part of Russia''

For four hours, Putin tried to convince Scholz that Ukraine and Belarus "are parts of Russia." Among other reasons for the war, the dictator said that "Ukraine is heading to NATO."

Scholz emphasized that he had told Putin that as of now (February 2022) and for many years to come, Ukraine's accession to the bloc was out of the question.

The dictator also voiced fabrications about a "Nazi regime" in Ukraine.

"Talking about this when the president is a Jew... It's hard to imagine how absurd and shameful this explanation is to justify the war," the politician said.

The chancellor said that Berlin provides Kyiv with maximum support to prevent this "imperialist attack on a neighboring state from succeeding." But at the same time, he emphasized, Germany is making sure that it does not come "to a major war between Russia and NATO."
