More than €16m worth of cannabis seized in Ireland - BBC
Law enforcement officers seized cannabis with an estimated value of more than 16 million euros in County Wexford on the southeast coast of Ireland. It happened in the port of Rosslare.
According to the British national broadcaster, the drugs were found by tax officials. They called the Irish police, who, in turn, called the discovery "unaccompanied cargo".
It is known that the "unaccompanied cargo" was unloaded from a ferry that arrived from Bilbao, Spain. The ferry was searched.
A total of 783 kg of cannabis in the form of a dry plant and another 70 kg of cannabis in the form of resin were seized. Irish law enforcement officers estimated the entire batch of drugs at 16.09 million euros.
At the same time, the police have officially reported that no one has been arrested so far, but the drugs are being analyzed and the investigation is ongoing.
