The Chief of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov does not believe that members of the US Republican Party, and in particular Donald Trump, who may become president again, are supporters of the aggressor country Russia. Talks about this are "complete nonsense."

Budanov said this in an interview with CNN. He made this statement in the context of the fact that Ukraine is now waiting for Democrats and Republicans in the US Congress to reach an agreement on what further assistance to our country depends on.

"We still expect a positive decision," the DIU chief said.

According to him, Ukraine now desperately needs more ammunition and weapons to deter Russian attacks.

Budanov dismissed the possibility that the United States would leave Ukraine behind if Trump wins the presidential election.

"I'm not too worried about that. Trump is an experienced man. He has fallen many times and got back up again. And this is a very serious trait," he says.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called on Congress to immediately approve new aid for Ukraine. The official warned of "unimaginable consequences" that could occur if lawmakers do not support the initiative.
