"We do not rule it out": Estonian Prime Minister supports Macron's idea to deploy foreign troops in Ukraine

Moscow reacts angrily to Macron's remarks

Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas has said that Western leaders should not make it impossible to deploy ground troops to Ukraine. In this way, she supported the idea of French President Emmanuel Macron, who hinted that it is possible to send ground troops to help Kyiv.

This was reported by Politico. Macron's words provoked a negative reaction from other allied governments, whose leaders were quick to insist that troops would not be sent.

But Kallas said leaders should discuss all options behind closed doors, including what else can be done to help Ukraine.

"I think that this is also a signal that we are sending to Russia that we are not ruling out different things. Because all the countries have realized that we have to do everything to make sure that Ukraine wins and Russia loses this war," she emphasized.

While most other EU countries have ruled out sending troops to Ukraine, including major players such as Germany, Britain, and the United States, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said Wednesday that he was grateful for the debate initiated by Macron, adding that "no option can be immediately rejected."

Moscow reacted angrily to Macron's remarks, warning that the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine would inevitably lead to a conflict between Russia and NATO.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, discussions on sending troops to Ukraine began at a meeting of presidents, heads of governments, and ministries from 28 countries, which recently took place in Paris at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron. At the meeting, he said that no EU state plans to send its military contingent to Ukraine, but "it is possible that this position may change in the future."

The French president warned that Russia could attack NATO countries in a few years. That is why European countries cannot allow Russia to win an aggressive war against Ukraine, as Europe's security is at stake.
