The United States is discussing with Greece the sale of a total of 75,000 artillery shells from the country's armed forces as part of efforts to replenish Ukraine's ammunition in the war against Russia. The negotiations are in their final stages.
This was reported by the Greek edition of eKathimerini. It is noted that the total purchase amount agreed upon by the Greek side is $47 million.
The United States will purchase shells of various calibers. In total, we are talking about 50 thousand shells of 105 mm caliber, 20 thousand of 155 mm caliber and 5 thousand larger shells of 203 mm caliber.
The publication noted that these negotiations were useful for the Greek side not only from the standpoint of benefits, as they provided a resource that will be used by the armed forces. But also for understanding that the production of ammunition can be more profitable.
As a reminder, Greece may transfer 100 Leopard 1A5 tanks to Ukraine. The country was approached by Germany with such a proposal. The transfer of tanks can take place under a trilateral agreement, under which Greece will receive modernized armored vehicles.
As reported by OBOZREVATEL:
Greece will join the countries participating in the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16.
Greece also joined the G7 declaration on security guarantees for Ukraine and officially supported Ukraine's membership in NATO.
