The United States is preparing a new $400 million aid package for Ukraine. It may be announced as early as today, May 10.

Politico writes about it, citing its own sources. It is noted that the relevant notification has already been sent to the US Congress.

The package will include weapons that are already in the United States' warehouses and, therefore, can be immediately sent to Ukraine. These include new Patriot missiles, Stinger anti-aircraft missiles, Bradley fighting vehicles, MRAPs, Javelin anti-tank grenade launchers, and other ammunition.

The newspaper also reported that the Biden administration has estimated that Ukraine can at most hold its ground without American assistance, but will be able to retake some of the seized territories from Russia as soon as it receives weapons provided by the United States.

On Thursday, May 9, U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller said at a briefing that the United States is already preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine. He said that America wants to reach the pace of assistance that was in place in 2023 before the funding was interrupted. The previous (56th tranche from August 2021) was announced by Washington on April 24, 2024.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the Ukrainian army has already received part of the military aid from the United States after Congress unblocked funding. The main batch of weapons from large aid packages, including from Germany and Britain, will arrive in our country within a few months.
