UN says it cannot verify reports on Russia's use of North Korea missiles: Ukraine voices figures

The UN failed to confirm Russia's use of weapons from the DPRK

The United Nations (UN) claimed that it could not confirm the fact that the terrorist country Russia used weapons from the DPRK against Ukraine. At the same time, they decided to remind the aggressor of the need to comply with sanctions.

The UN also boasted that it had "repeatedly condemned the shelling of civilians and civilian infrastructure." This was stated  by the representative of the UN Secretary-General, Stéphane Dujarric, in a commentary to Ukrinform.

According to him, in the context of Russia's use of North Korean ballistic missiles to strike Ukraine, one should remember the need to comply with UN Security Council sanctions. He also stated that there is currently no way to verify reports of the use of weapons from the DPRK or any other country.

"We have repeatedly condemned the shelling of civilians and civilian infrastructure. It is important that all member states comply with the sanctions adopted. The Security Council has mechanisms to address these issues," the UN said.

At the same time, Prosecutor General Andrii Kostin said that Russian terrorists used at least 24 ballistic missiles made in the DPRK. He noted that the enemy used KN-23/24 missiles during its attacks on Ukraine.

He also clarified that the Russians used ballistic missiles from the DPRK between December 30, 2023, and February 7, 2024. The occupiers struck seven regions of Ukraine with North Korean weapons.
