Lloyd Austin commented on the situation at the front in Ukraine

Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin said that the United States is concerned about the advance of Russian occupation forces in Ukraine. He also praised Ukraine for its successful mobilization.

This was reported by Reuters. According to the Pentagon chief, the United States will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine.

"Austin said that the United States is concerned about Russia's progress in Ukraine, to which Washington will continue to provide security assistance," the report said.

At the same time, he noted that he was encouraged by Ukraine's ability to attract more people to join its army.

"I applaud what the Ukrainians continue to do to make sure they can stand. Ukrainians are very determined people," he added.

Earlier, the Pentagon chief said that the United States does not consider a large-scale war in the Middle East inevitable. Washington is doing everything possible to reduce tensions in the region and leave room for diplomacy.

As a reminder, the Pentagon announced the purchase of interceptors for the Patriot and NASAMS air defense systems for Ukraine. The amount of assistance is 2.2 billion dollars.
