Ukrainian Armed Forces canceled hundreds of drones in Tauride sector and thinned enemy ranks, - Tarnavsky

Tarnavsky told how many occupants were eliminated in the Tauride sector over the last day

Over the course of March 9, more than 50 combat engagements took place in the area of responsibility of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops. The enemy's losses in manpower exceeded 300 people, and the occupiers lost more than 60 pieces of military equipment and weapons.

At the same time, Ukrainian soldiers neutralized 312 enemy drones of various types. Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavsky, commander of the Tavria operational and strategic grouping of troops, spoke about the previous day.

In the Tauride sector, the enemy continues to intensify attacks on the positions of Ukrainian troops.

"There were 54 combat engagements in the operational area of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops over the last day. The enemy carried out 27 air strikes, 153 strikes by kamikaze drones, and made 1252 attacks. Our defenders are conducting a defensive operation and inflicting significant losses on the Russian occupants," noted Tarnavsky.

In particular, the day before, Ukrainian soldiers killed or wounded 310 Russian occupants. They also destroyed 65 units of Russian equipment and weapons, excluding UAVs.

Thus, on March 9, the invaders lost:

  • 12 tanks,
  • 17 armored combat vehicles,
  • five artillery systems,
  • one MLRS,
  • 28 vehicles,
  • one unit of special equipment.

"The destroyed and damaged enemy equipment includes one Pantsyr-S1 self-propelled anti-aircraft missile and gun system, one Hyacinth self-propelled artillery system, one BM-21 Grad MLRS, and two Murom-M video surveillance systems," added Tarnavsky.

In addition, Ukrainian defenders neutralized 312 enemy UAVs of various types, as well as destroyed four Russian ammunition depots and one occupant dugout.

Earlier, Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, told how many Russian ships are undergoing repairs in Crimea. According to him, the invaders are aware of their own vulnerability on the occupied peninsula, but "do not have much choice."
