Trump's special envoy Keith Kellogg to visit Ukraine in early January for a "fact-finding" trip - Reuters

Keith Kellogg plans to visit Ukraine

Retired US General Keith Kellogg, whom future US President Donald Trump is to appoint special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, is allegedly planning to visit our country. The trip may take place in early January 2025.

His team is also working on organizing meetings with leaders in other European capitals, such as Rome and Paris. Reuters writes about this with reference to two sources.

"President-elect Donald Trump's incoming Ukraine envoy will travel to Kyiv and several other European capitals in early January as the next administration tries to bring a swift end to the Russia-Ukraine war," the article says.

At the same time, according to journalists' interlocutors, Kellogg does not plan to visit Moscow during this trip. Instead, he will visit high-ranking officials in Kyiv, and his team is also working on organizing meetings in Italy and France. One source warned that the trip planning is still being finalized and the itinerary may change.

"The meetings are expected to focus on fact-finding on behalf of the incoming Trump administration, rather than on active negotiations, the sources said. Still, the planned trip illustrates the urgency the president-elect has placed on winding down the war in Ukraine," Reuters writes.

Earlier, Keith Kellogg said that Trump "is the only person that can end the war in Ukrane, and he will do it." He is even considering inviting Ukrainian and Russian representatives to negotiations in the United States.

As reported, in early December, a Ukrainian delegation led by the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak met with representatives of the team of US President-elect Donald Trump in Washington. The Ukrainians met with Trump's advisors responsible for Ukraine policy.
