There is no political decision to transfer German Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine in Berlin. This was confirmed by a phone call from the German military that was intercepted by the Russian army.

The statement was made by German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius on March 5 during a trip to Sweden, Reuters reports. As a reminder, Russian propagandists released the content of a nearly 40-minute conversation between German Air Force Inspector General Ingo Gerhartz and three officers, which allegedly took place on February 19.

"During this phone conversation, they kept saying that there was no political decision - neither by Chancellor [Olaf Scholz] nor by me - to send the Taurus to Ukraine," Pistorius said at a press conference.

He claims that Berlin is not upset by the scandal surrounding the Russians' taped conversation. Pistorius told his partners in Washington that it was a "human error."

"They are not angry or upset with Germany because they know that we have rules and that such things can happen," the German Defense Minister said.

Earlier, Boris Pistorius explained how Russia managed to intercept a telephone conversation between the German military. One of the participants may have connected to the call using a mobile network or hotel Wi-Fi.
