The US allowed Norway to transfer to Ukraine more than 20 F-16 fighters, but there is a caveat: The media learned the details

Norway may transfer more than 20 F-16s to Ukraine, but not all of them are in good condition

Norway has received permission from the United States to transfer 22 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. However, not all of them are in good condition.

This was reported by Nettavisen. According to journalists, Oslo is preparing to transfer aircraft engines, auxiliary materials, simulators, spare parts, and other relevant equipment to Kyiv after Washington's permission.

The media outlet writes that 12 Norwegian F-16s, which the state planned to sell to the American company Draken International under a contract signed in 2021, may be suitable for flight.

Nettavisen notes that the remaining fighters can be used for spare parts and repairs of other aircraft.

"The sale agreement with Draken International does not seem to be implemented, and the planes that were supposed to be used for training in the United States will instead be used to protect Ukraine's airspace," the publication writes.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Dutch Defense Minister Keesa Ollongren said earlier that her country plans to transfer only 24 F-16 fighters to Ukraine. The Ukrainian military will receive them after completing all the necessary training.

Earlier it was reported that Ukraine would receive the first F-16 fighters in the first half of this year. The planes will arrive first from Denmark.
