State Border Guard Service names region with the highest activity of hostile subversive groups: details

The Russian occupiers use their sabotage and reconnaissance groups to enter our territory to expose the locations of the defense forces, where they then strike. Such hostile subversive reconnaissance groups are most active in the Sumy sector.

Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, said this during a briefing on February 19. He also named other regions where Russian subversive reconnaissance groups are active.

According to him, the activity of enemy sabotage and reconnaissance groups also continued in the Kharkiv sector, and less so in the Chernihiv region.

At the same time, the spokesman noted that over the past few days, border guards have not spotted any enemy subversive reconnaissance groups. However, the threat remains.

"But this, of course, does not eliminate the threat, because the enemy has previously used its sabotage and reconnaissance groups in Chernihiv region to enter our territory, to expose the locations of defense forces in order to continue striking," explained Demchenko.

The spokesman also added that the enemy has recently intensified the use of drones for both reconnaissance and strikes.

"Instead, our soldiers are using all necessary means to suppress and prevent enemy UAVs from hitting Ukraine," emphasized Demchenko.
