Armin Papperger, CEO of the German concern Rheinmetall, said that his company wants to produce tanks, air defence systems and ammunition in Ukraine. He would like to create such facilities in the future.

Papperger made the statement on Tuesday, May 9, in Düsseldorf. This was reported by the German newspaper Bild.

"Germany's largest arms company, Rheinmetall, sees itself on the right track to producing tanks, anti-aircraft systems and ammunition in Ukraine in the future," the statement said.

Papperger noted that he is now trying to conclude certain cooperation and joint venture agreements with Ukrainian companies. This may happen in the coming weeks.

It is noted that our country will invest in new plants.

"In this way, we are enabling Ukraine to be able to defend itself in the medium and long term," said the Rheinmetall CEO.

Earlier, Papperger said that his company is ready to significantly increase the production of tank and artillery ammunition to meet the demand for it in Ukraine and Western countries.
