The Ukrainian army is advancing in the Melitopol direction, having the initiative in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions. In general, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are consolidating their positions in the Tavria sector and preparing for a new offensive.

This was reported by Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, spokesman for the joint press center of the Tavria Defense Forces, on the air of the Yedyni Novyny TV marathon. He noted that Ukrainian defenders eliminated 256 occupants over the past day, two were captured.

According to Colonel Shtupun, the enemy carried out 13 unsuccessful attacks in the area of responsibility of the Tavria Brigade in the area of Marinka over the past day.

"Our troops have the initiative in the Avdiivka and Shakhtarsk directions, they continue to destroy the enemy in the depths of its defense. An offensive operation continued in the Melitopol direction too as our units destroyed the enemy's manpower and equipment and repelled enemy attacks near Robotyne in Zaporizhzhia. The occupiers also suffered significant losses there. In total, missile and artillery units of the Tavria Defense Forces completed 930 firing missions over the last day," the colonel said.

According to the spokesman, total enemy losses amounted to 256 personnel over the last day. Ukrainian troops also destroyed 39 units of enemy military equipment, including one tank, three armored personnel carriers, six artillery systems, one MLRS, 13 UAVs, 13 vehicles and two more units of expensive equipment.

He also said that two enemy ammunition depots were destroyed.

According to Shtupun, the enemy is reinforcing its forces, replenishing losses and trying to attack. At the same time, the Defense Forces are consolidating and preparing to move forward.

As a result, the commander of the 58th Army of the Russian Federation fighting in the Zaporizhzhia direction and the chief of staff were wounded.
