Russians train ship crews to counter naval drones - Military Media Center
Following a series of attacks in the Black Sea, the Russian occupiers have begun training the crews of their warships to counter naval drones. Russian coastal troops will also be trained.
At the same time, the invaders have begun implementing anti-sabotage measures to protect the Russian fleet's basing points in the Black and Azov Seas. This was reported by the Defence Forces' media platform Military Media Centre, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
"The Russians are training their ship crews to counter maritime drones. Such training of crews and coastal troops is carried out simultaneously with anti-sabotage measures to protect the Russian fleet's basing points in the Black and Azov Seas. According to available information, the enemy is also trying to improve the system of defensive positions and areas in Crimea," the statement said.
Earlier, it became known that the SBU used an experimental drone "Sea Kid" to attack the Crimean bridge on 17 July 2023. Later, a video of the aftermath of the span collapse was published.
The governor of Russia-occupied Crimea, Sergey Aksyonov, said that several large roadway failures and casualties had occurred after the nighttime explosions.
Also, on 4 August 2023, the Russian large amphibious assault ship Olenegorskiy Gornyak was attacked by marine drones in the bay of Novorossiysk. It was reported that the ship suffered a serious hole, tilted on its side, and barely managed to reach the port.
And on the night of 5 August, a marine drone crashed into a SIG tanker 30 miles from the Kerch Strait. Russian media published a photo of the damaged vessel. The tanker had a hole in the engine room area.
