Russians staged a combined night attack on Ukraine: details

On the night of February 25, the aggressor country Russia launched a combined attack on Ukraine. First, the occupiers launched missile strikes in the south, and then Shahed kamikaze drones.

A total of eight enemy targets were destroyed in the southern regions. This was reported by Natalia Humeniuk, head of the Joint Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, during a TV marathon.

According to her, at the beginning of the night, the aggressor tried to destroy Ukrainian air defense using tactical aircraft from the Black Sea, for which it used two X-31P missiles.

The defenders of the sky shot down both Russian anti-radar missiles over the sea. But then the enemy staged two waves of Shahed missile launches with an interval of more than two hours.

"That night they had branches in terms of both direction and time," Humeniuk emphasized.

At first, the kamikaze drones were heading from Crimea in the direction of the Dnipropetrovsk region through Mykolaiv and Kherson regions. And then they tried to sneak through the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region to the central regions and then head west.

Southern air defense units managed to shoot down one Shahed in the sky over the Kherson region, three over Mykolaiv region, and two over Kropyvnytskyi region.

In total, the air defense forces destroyed 16 of the 18 enemy attack UAVs during this attack.
