"Russians have already dropped as many guided bombs as for the whole 2023": Avdiivka RMA head spoke on what is happening in the city at the beginning of the year
Russian invaders are massively shelling Avdiivka, Donetsk region, with guided aerial bombs. In just eight days, the Russians have dropped 132 of them on the city.
This was reported by the head of the Avdiivka city Military Administration Vitalii Barabash. He noted that in recent days, the occupants have increased the number of assaults and shelling.
"UAVs started flying into the city at the end of summer, in early September. Before that, there were FABs, unguided rockets and just rockets. In 2023, about 150 guided bombs were dropped on Avdiivka, I think 146. Since January 1, 132 bombs were used in 8 days," Barabash said.
He clarified that the Russian army is mainly firing at the central part of the city, where multi-story buildings are concentrated. The old part of Avdiivka, administrative buildings, etc. are also under enemy fire. Recently, there have been more cases when the invaders are trying to hit the road, i.e. to break the roadway.
At the same time, Ukrainian defenders are very effective in working behind enemy lines and destroying ammunition depots in the rear close to the front line.
