Russian occupants stole $25 million worth of metal from Mariupol - Honcharenko
Russia stole $25 million worth of metal from the port of occupied Mariupol.
This was stated by MP Oleksiy Honcharenko. He also demonstrated satellite images that show how the amount of metal in the port decreased after the occupation.
"These are images of the port of Mariupol. They show how the occupiers are stealing Ukrainian metal. Over the past year, $25 million worth of hot-rolled coils were stolen from warehouses and taken to Russia by ship," Goncharenko said.
Earlier, a member of the Mariupol City Council, Dmytro Zabavin, said that the occupiers had reopened the port to import Russian weapons and export grain and metal stolen in Ukraine.
As you know, the port of Mariupol was used to store products from two metallurgical giants - Azovstal and Metinvest Group's Ilyich Iron and Steel Works of Mariupol. Later, the companies appealed to the Prosecutor General's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine to open criminal proceedings against the Russian occupiers. The plants provided the investigators with evidence that the Russian military and terrorist groups under their control are systematically misappropriating their property in occupied Mariupol, including stealing products in the port, which is a war crime and falls under the jurisdiction of international justice.
For its part, Metinvest Akhmetova called on international partners and seaport operators not to buy products of dubious origin and to immediately inform the company.
