Russia launches missiles and Shaheds at Ukraine at night: air defense forces shoot down Kh-59 and six drones
On Tuesday night, October 17, Ukrainian air defenders destroyed six Shahed-136/131 kamikaze drones. A Russian Kh-59 guided missile was also shot down.
This is stated in the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Later, the Air Force said that enemy targets were neutralized in the south.
It is noted that the occupiers sent S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles, one Kh-59 and six Shaheds to strike Ukrainian cities and villages.
Air defense forces and means destroyed all six attack UAVs and a guided missile.
The Ukrainian Air Force clarified that the occupiers launched Shaheds at Ukraine from the area of Cape Chuada (Crimea), while the Kh-59 missile was launched from a Su-34 aircraft in the airspace of the occupied part of Kherson region.
"All seven targets were destroyed by the air defense of the Air Force and air defense of other components of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the southern direction," the military said.
At the same time, they added that the enemy also used two S-300 anti-aircraft guided missiles in the eastern direction at night.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, last night, on October 16, Russian troops launched six missiles and 12 kamikaze drones at Ukraine. The defenders of the sky shot down 11 Shaheds and two Kh-59 missiles.
