The Russian Defense Ministry cynically spoke about the large-scale missile attack on Ukraine that killed civilians. They said it was an alleged "retaliatory strike."

The Ministry of Defense of Russian remained silent about casualties and strikes on civilian infrastructure. The ministry's statement was disseminated by Russian propaganda media.

"In response to the terrorist actions organized by the Kyiv regime on March 2 in the Bryansk region, the armed forces of the Russian Federation launched a massive retaliatory strike," the statement reads.

The Russian Ministry of Defense also reiterated that the purpose of the strike was allegedly achieved. At the same time, it wasn't mentioned that Ukrainian defenders shot down 34 Russian missiles and four Iranian-made kamikaze drones on the night of March 9, which the occupiers used to attack a number of regions.

Sergei Shoigu also claims that the strike allegedly hit Ukrainian military infrastructure, defense enterprises and the energy facilities that supply them, as well as the locations of attack drones.
