Explosions were heard in Kryvyi Rih during the air alert on August 12. Smoke rose above the site.

The explosions were confirmed by the head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council Oleksandr Vilkul. He urged the citizens not to take or publish photos.

"Explosions in Kryvyi Rih. Do not take or publish photos or videos," he wrote.

The first reports of explosions in the regional center appeared at 10.01.

Photos of smoke rising into the sky after the explosions began to appear in local channels. It is also said that the occupants could have used ballistic missiles to attack Kryvyi Rih.

An air alert was declared around 10 a.m. in the southern and eastern regions of Ukraine.

"The threat of ballistic weapons use in the regions where the alert has been declared!" the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine warned.
