EU to increase ammunition and missile production for Ukraine: all project details

To help Ukraine in the war against the Russian Federation, the European Union will increase the production of ammunition and missiles for our country. "Act in support of ammunition production" (ASAP), which provides for this, came into force on July 23.
Its purpose is to accelerate the supply of military aid for the Armed forces of Ukraine by EU member states. This is reported on the website of the official gazette of the European Union.
ASAP provides for an increase in EU production capacity to address shortages of defense products, particularly artillery ammunition, missiles and their components.
"A joint effort to allow Member States to replenish their depleted stocks and support Ukraine can only be effective if the EU supply side can deliver the necessary defense products on time. But as stocks are rapidly dwindling, EU production is almost at maximum capacity through orders from Member States or third countries, and prices are already rising sharply, additional Union industrial policy measures are needed to ensure a rapid increase in production capacity," the document says.
500 million euros will be allocated to finance the project for the period from July 25, 2023 to June 30, 2025. The budget can be increased if necessary.
The procedure for approval of the ASAP regulation between the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union ended on July 20.
As reported OBOZREVATEL, the Estonian Ministry of Defense will purchase ammunition for more than 1.2 billion euros over the next four years. The relevant information is approved in the country's development plan for 2024-2027.
