Duda: the fate of the world is being decided in Ukraine

Duda stressed that European countries should completely withdraw capital and investments from Russia

Polish President Andrzej Duda has named several factors that should be the driving force behind the West's consolidation of assistance to Ukraine and pressure on the aggressor country, Russia. Duda noted that the fate of the entire civilised world is being decided in Ukraine.

The Polish president wrote about this on his official Twitter page. Thus, Duda called on Western countries to continue active military, political and humanitarian support for Ukraine.

The Polish president also believes that the European Union and the G7 countries should continue to impose tough sanctions against Russia and persuade those countries that have not yet decided on their position.

Duda said that European countries should minimise their dependence on Russian energy resources and completely withdraw capital and investments from Russia.

In addition, he said that it is necessary to "bring to the understanding of the entire international community that the fate of the world is being decided in Ukraine".

Earlier, Moldova said it wanted to join the EU as soon as possible because of the threat from Russia. The President of Moldova hopes for a decision to start negotiations in the coming months.

Recall that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will take part in the Group of Seven summit in Hiroshima, Japan. He will address the meeting on Sunday, May 21.
