Denmark will stop training Ukrainian pilots on F-16: the reason is given

Denmark will not be able to train Ukrainians on F-16s after 2024. Source: Military

Denmark will train Ukrainian pilots on F-16s only until the end of 2024. Next year, the country will not be able to train our military because of the transition from these fighters to more modern F-35s.

The Danes will use their Skridstrup air base, where the training is currently taking place, to train them. This was stated by Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen on Monday, June 24, at a joint press conference with Norwegian Defense Minister Bjørn Arild Gram, The Local Denmark reports.

At the same time, he assured that Denmark would still contribute to the training of Ukrainian pilots outside the country.

Poulsen also said that by the end of the training program in Denmark, about 20 Ukrainian pilots will be trained on the F-16.

The other day, President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine would receive F-16 fighters in the near future. The head of state noted that Denmark would provide the combat aircraft to our country.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

- The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the training of Ukrainian pilots on modern American F-16 fighters was slightly delayed. This is due to the fact that this process is very complicated, and there are few places in the world to train F-16s.

- Ukraine is putting pressure on the United States and other countries to intensify training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16s. The programs that are currently in place cannot train enough pilots to fly the aircraft that our country will soon receive.
