Another ally allocates military aid to Ukraine: what will be given to the Armed Forces

Lithuania has announced new military assistance to Ukraine to protect it from a full-scale invasion by the aggressor country Russia. The Defense Forces will receive 14 M113 armored personnel carriers, and short-range air defense systems with missiles, rifles, ammunition, and other weapons.

This was reported on Thursday, August 15, on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense. It was noted that loaders, trailers, and folding beds for the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already arrived in Ukraine.

In August, the Defense Forces will receive:

– 14 M113 armored personnel carriers;

– short-range air defense launchers with missiles;

– anti-drone systems;

– individual anti-drone silencers;

– all-terrain vehicles with spare parts;

– rifles;

– ammunition;

– smoke charges.

"In response to Ukraine's requests, this year Lithuania has already supplied 155-mm ammunition, M577 armored vehicles, M113 armored personnel carriers, anti-tank systems, equipment and warm clothing sets necessary for the winter season, ammunition for the Karl Gustav anti-tank grenade launcher, RISE-1 remote detonation systems, generators, parts of the dismantled L-39ZA Albatross light attack aircraft, and other supplies," the Lithuanian Defense Ministry said.

They also emphasized that since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Vilnius has provided Kyiv with military assistance worth more than 641 million euros. And the total support for Ukraine from Lithuania has exceeded 1 billion euros.

On August 13, Latvian Defense Minister Andris Spruds announced the transfer of a batch of drones of his production to Ukraine. As part of the International Drone Coalition, Latvia has handed over about 500 UAVs to support the Ukrainian military.

It should be noted that Germany has also announced a new aid package for the Ukrainian army. The weapons will be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2024. It includes Leopard tanks, IRIS-T short and medium-range tanks, Zuzana 2 self-propelled artillery systems, MRAP armored vehicles, logistics vehicles, UAVs, and anti-drone systems.
