Ukrainian wrestler Anastasia Alpieieva refused to take a joint photo with a "neutral" Belarusian athlete Viktoria Radkova. The incident took place at the U-23 World Championships in the capital of Albania.

In Tirana, 22-year-old Alpieieva, a native of Volyn region, won bronze in the 72 kg weight category at this tournament. Radkova also won a bronze medal.

Alpieieva is a two-time Ukrainian champion in freestyle wrestling, as well as a world champion among wrestlers under 23. She is an international master of sports of Ukraine.

As previously reported, Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostiuk refused to shake hands with Russian Elina Avanesyan after the third round match of the Australian Open 2024. Our compatriot won a dramatic match with a comeback. The athletes did not hold the traditional greeting afterward.

Earlier, another Ukrainian tennis player, Diana Yastremska, did the same. The 23-year-old from Odesa defeated former Russian player Varvara Gracheva and then did not greet her with a handshake.
