The Ukrainian women's sabre fencing team failed to win the bronze medal at the World Championship-2023, which was held in Italy. In the match for the third place our team consisting of Alina Komashchuk, Olga Kharlan, Elena Kravatska and Yulia Bakastova lost to South Korea 32:45.

The meeting started badly for the "yellow-blue" national team. Harlan lost at the start to the Korean national team's number one (3:5), and then Bakastova and Komashchuk lost to their opponents with the same score. Only in the fourth shift Yulia managed to narrow the gap by one point (13:20).

The fifth game between Harlan and the Korean first ended with a victory of the Ukrainian, but later the judges reviewed the replay and gave a point to our rivals.

The sixth change of fencers took place with the score 25:17 not in our favor. The second half passed with the advantage of the Korean women, who brought the match to victory.
