Transfer bomb: ManCity buy the most expensive defender in history

The team officially announced the acquisition of
Croatian defender Joško Gvardiol has joined Manchester City. The parties signed a five-year contract.
The English champion paid €90 million for the 21-year-old Zagreb-born defender, making him the most expensive defender in football history.
Prior to that, the most expensive player in this position was Harry Maguire, who was bought by Manchester United for €87 million.
Gvardiol began his professional career in 2019 at local side Dynamo Kyiv, playing in 36 matches over 2 seasons, scoring 3 goals. In 2021, he moved to German side Leipzig, also scoring three times (41 matches).
