"There is no whining": the coach of Bosnia and Herzegovina made a categorical statement about the match with Ukraine
The head coach of the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team, Savo Milosevic, has rejected any attempts to prejudge his team's semifinal playoff match with Ukraine for Euro 2024. The famous striker noted that his team will do everything to defeat the Blue and Yellows.
Milosevic said this on national television, according to sportske.ba. According to the Bosnian coach, his team really has the toughest lot possible, but the Balkans will have the home field advantage and the desire to reach the continental championship for the first time in history.
"The opponent is the strongest of all, but it is what it is. History repeats itself again when it comes to luck in head-to-head matches. But it is up to us to turn our luck around. We cannot say that Ukraine is on the same level as the teams we used to play in the playoffs. It will not be easy, but it is what it is. There is no whining," Milosevic said.
It should be noted that the Bosnians have played three times in the playoffs of qualifying tournaments for the European Championships. In the qualifiers for Euro 2012, they lost to the Portuguese (0: 0 and 2: 6), in four years they failed to cope with Ireland (1: 1 and 0: 2), and in the semifinals of the "joints" for the 2020 championship they lost on penalties to Northern Ireland.
Earlier, Bosnia and Herzegovina accused the Ukrainian media of "dirty propaganda " to put pressure on the rivals of Serhii Riebrov's national team. And former national team player Ognjen Vranjev suspected international federations of conspiring against his compatriots.
As OBOZ.UA previously reported, the President of the European Football Union (UEFA), Aleksander Čeferin, wished the Bosnians to reach the championship before the draw for the Euro 2024 playoffs.
