"The time will come": Russian Olympic champion says Russia "unites everyone" and IOC is run by "lying people"

Vasiliev speaks out on Russia's participation in the Olympics

Two-time Olympic champion Dmitry Vasiliev made an absurd statement that the so-called Friendship Games, which dictator Vladimir Putin ordered his cronies to hold, are the real Olympic Games. The former biathlete added that Russia "unites all athletes".

Vasiliev said this in an interview with the propaganda news agency RIA Novosti. He noted that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) is full of deceitful people who are trying to politicise sport by preventing aggressors from displaying their national symbols.

"What Bach is doing is politicised. Russia, on the other hand, unites all athletes. There will never be a question of what nationality an athlete is, just come and compete, so there is no politics here. I think that if we manage to organise these Games and hold them well, and I have no doubt that we will, there will come a time when Western athletes will gradually start to migrate from these so-called Olympic Games to the Friendship Games. These are deceitful people, so we really need to create an alternative structure," Vasiliev said.

The day before, he also said that there would be riots and even terrorist attacks during the 2024 Olympics in Paris if the Russian team participated there as a refugee team.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, Honorary President of the Russian Olympic Committee Leonid Tyagachev called idiots the IOC leaders who are considering the possibility of Russian representatives participating in the Paris Games as refugees.
