He promised a "fee" for destroyed tanks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Grigory Leps received a suspicion from the SSU in absentia
The Security Service of Ukraine has served a notice of suspicion in absentia to Z-singer and propagandist Grigory Leps, who openly supports Russian aggression against Ukraine. According to the case file, the artist not only openly endorses the war, but also actively helps Russian troops financially.
In particular, in the summer of 2023, after one of his concerts, Leps told propaganda media that he was ready to pay a million rubles for each destroyed tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The SSU announced the reasons for the suspicion on Telegram.
In addition, he handed over so-called humanitarian aid to the Russian occupation groups, which served as supplies for the army: bulletproof vests, military clothing, underwear, and food. Leps himself has repeatedly spoken about this in his interviews with propaganda media, confirming his involvement in supporting Russian war crimes.
What allegations has the SSU issued
Having gathered enough evidence, SSU investigators served Grigory Leps with a notice of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine:
- ч. 3 of Art. 110-2 – financing of actions committed with the aim of forcible change or overthrow of the constitutional order or seizure of state power, change of the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine;
- ч. 3 of Art. 436-2 – justification, recognition of the legitimacy, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants.
As the suspect is hiding in Russia, measures are being taken to bring him to justice.
As a reminder, Grigory Leps visited occupied Donetsk in the spring of 2023. There, the Z-patriot began to entertain the separatist audience with his songs and also visited a local hospital. The singer proudly announced that he planned to come to Donbas with concerts many times.
Earlier, OBOZ.UA wrote that rap artist Artem Loik said that the last time he spoke with Putinist singer Grigory Leps was on the first day of the full-scale Russian invasion. The artist stated that at the time, the propagandist reacted to the start of the war with the common Russian propaganda line, "Things aren’t really like that," which resulted in them cutting off contact.
