Russian occupants captured Ukrainian boxing champion and forced him to film himself
Ukrainian boxing champion (weight category up to 81 kg) Andriy Prykhodko was taken prisoner by the Russian occupiers. Propagandists from RIA Novosti posted a video in which they forced the 29-year-old native of Mariupol to tell how it all happened.
At night, Prykhodko and his colleagues moved from Druzhkivka to Chasiv Yar (17 km from Bakhmut), where they boarded four IFV-1 vehicles and arrived directly at the positions of the Russian Armed Forces. In the first few minutes, the commander of the unit was killed.
"We began to retreat from our positions because the terrain was open. We spent the night in the bushes under fire, a combat medic was wounded, and the next morning we moved out to evacuate the group. We went with the help of a quadcopter. We reached a certain place. We had to turn either to the right or to the left - we went straight and ran into the Russian military. At that place, we had three 200s and one 300, but he got out. And I know three other guys also got out. I don't know where the rest of our men are," says our boxer.
Prykhodko said that before joining the Armed Forces, he had 15 years of boxing experience. In addition to winning the Ukrainian Championship, he won the Ukrainian Cup. He is a master of sports. At the same time, in between boxing fights, he was engaged in kickboxing. He won a medal at the World Kickboxing Championships (full contact).
Andriy joined the Armed Forces because he and his coach did not see eye to eye.
"I wanted to transfer to professional boxing, but he stopped me - he saw my career continuing in amateur boxing. I knew that a man from the SBU was training in our gym. I talked to him and he explained to me that either I was going to sign a contract or do conscript service. I chose the former," the Ukrainian said.
